Commitment to Recycling
The environment is a hot topic of conversation today. From grade school classrooms to corporate boardrooms, people are talking about how they can preserve earth's resources.

Recycling is one of the most important ways all of us in business and industry can be environmentally responsible. At Laminations, we are dedicated to making our products from recycled material, and to making them fully recyclable. All paperboard packaging products are made from recycled fiber, approximately 80% of which is post-consumer waste and 20% of which is pre-consumer waste. They are also 100% recyclable and in some cases can be used more than once. Its recyclability makes it easier to dispose of, because it can be thrown into the same baler that your company has for collecting and baling old corrugated.

By providing maximum protection with a minimum amount of packaging material, Laminations' products are a natural choice for source reduction as well. The VBoard® line of packaging solutions helps manufacturers meet the growing demands from retailers to reduce packaging material from their suppliers. By reducing packaging components, everyone decreases costs and environmental impact.

Another important factor to consider when choosing your packaging material is what goes into it. For example, many competitive edge and corner protector products use a combination of co-mingled paper and plastic—and often, traces of metal get into the mix. If you are in an industry where even a trace of contamination could have the potential to ruin your product and cost your company a tremendous amount of money—such as food processing—you simply cannot afford to take the risk of exposing foreign elements such as metal to your product. VBoard® is constructed completely of recycled fiber, with absolutely no added plastic or metal. You can be assured that VBoard is not co-mingled, and it will go safely through a metal detector.

Laminations is also compliant with U.S. Green Building Council Initiatives. The U.S. Green Building Council is a coalition of leaders from across the building industry that work together to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. This national consensus has an initiative that encourages all building material suppliers, from insulation to lumber to packaging providers, to have factories within 500 miles of each market. This initiative was created to reduce fuel consumption during the shipping process.

Laminations meets this “green initiative” with strategically positioned plant locations. Our multiple locations allow us to serve customers in every area of the United States expediently and cost-effectively. As the Council’s slogan states, when we “build green, everyone profits.”

As the nation's landfills are piled higher and higher with refuse, and industry faces more and more regulation and cost for its waste and disposal procedures, recycling simply makes good sense. We feel that if we keep the recycling idea in front of people, people will keep finding ways to do it. As Laminations grows and innovates, we remain committed to making our products good for the environment and good for business.
